Who we are
On the Tool is a UK-based agency, currently run as a sole trader by Natu. For the purposes of data protection law, On the Tool is the "data controller" of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at info@onthetool.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
This site collects personal data in one place: the enquiry form. When you fill it in, we collect:

We use this to respond to your enquiry and, if you go on to become a client, to provide the service you've asked about. Our lawful basis for this is legitimate interests — responding properly to a business enquiry you've chosen to send us — and, where it leads to a contract, taking steps towards that contract at your request.
We don't use this data for marketing you haven't asked for, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of other companies to run this site and respond to enquiries. We don't sell your data to anyone — these are service providers acting on our behalf:
Formspree — enquiry form processing
When you submit the enquiry form, the details go through Formspree, who email them to us. Formspree is based in the United States and processes data under Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers out of the UK/EU. See Formspree's privacy policy.
Netlify — website hosting
This site is hosted by Netlify, who keep standard technical server logs (like your IP address) as part of running the hosting service, in line with their own security and reliability practices. See Netlify's privacy policy.
Google Fonts
The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google's servers, which means your device's IP address is shared with Google when the page loads a font. This is only used to deliver the fonts, not for tracking or advertising.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. We don't currently track how visitors use the site. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry doesn't turn into a job, we keep your details for up to 24 months from our last contact, in case you get back in touch, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep what's needed for as long as we're working together, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our own accounting and legal obligations.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:
- show you the personal data we hold about you
- correct it, if it's wrong
- delete it, where there's no good reason for us to keep it
- restrict or object to how we use it
- send you a copy in a portable format
To do any of this, email info@onthetool.co.uk. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we collect or use personal data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
